Hold onto your marketing hats

Aug 16, 2021

Last month, there was a sea of CMA red in my LinkedIn feed, as judge after judge trumpeted their pride in being selected to adjudicate Canada’s most prestigious marketing awards. It was my first sign that the 2021 CMA Awards were going to be a tremendous success.

Then came waves of entries: 2.5 times as many as last year. It’s exciting to see our marketing and agency community re-energized after a tough 2020… not just for the sake of our Awards, but because it signifies the resilience of our community – and portends a surge in economic recovery as we turn some attention to celebrate marketing excellence.

We are accepting submissions until Sept 10 for our premier and special awards. Please nominate an exceptional marketer for the Marketer of the Year or Life Time Achievement awards, and submit your entry for one or more special awards: the Environics Analytics Data-Marketing Award, Canada Post Integrated Marketing Award, LinkedIn B2B Marketing Award, and our new Facebook Business Equality Award. The objective of this new award is to identify better representation of people in online ads, inspire and demonstrate more inclusive and authentic advertising content, and recognize the positive impact of inclusive portrayal — for people and businesses.

Heartfelt thanks to many in the marketing community who have already stepped up to make this year’s CMA Awards possible through your generous sponsorships. If you are interested in getting involved, please contact Lucy Collin, our Vice-President, Member Experience.

The theme of this year’s Awards Celebration on November 18 is “Out of This World”, with Canadian all-star talent, including our own Rick Campanelli and featuring Jully Black. Tickets go on sale August 30.
