SOLD OUT - Women in Business: Being Confident Communicators - Captivate Exclusive Experience
350 King Street West TIFF Bell Lightbox, 6th Floor Toronto Ontario M5V 3X5 Canada
Join us in person for Women in Business: Being Confident Communicators. Discover how you can authentically "show up" by exhibiting a spectrum of behaviors, from fostering personal connections with colleagues to confidently sharing perspectives. Learn to eliminate self-doubt and avoid common pitfalls such as unnecessary apologies, minimizing contributions, and indirect language. Allies will learn to recognize the value of clear and assertive communication, and refrain from associating such behavior with negative female stereotypes.
The event will focus on how women can be more Confident Communicators. We’ll share current research findings & trends from Captivate’s proprietary panel and provide an overview of Captivate’s Women in Business series.
We've invited back Wet Cement Founder and CEO, Jennifer Willey, to address how leadership traits are often stereotypically associated with men -- leaving women to face unique challenges.
Being an ally and leader means challenging stereotypes and biases. Support women in leadership, recognize the value of clear and assertive communication, and refrain from associating such behavior with negative stereotypes. We invite men across the industry to join us for this special event, so we can all help cultivate a workplace culture where everyone can thrive.
The keynote will be followed by a Q&A and interactive panel.
Attendees will walk away with:
Insights on breaking free from the constraints of the double bind
Awareness of common communication pitfalls to avoid
The ability to foster an inclusive and equitable workplace culture
Tools for enhancing their professional presence and influence
