Karim Kanji
VP, Digital & Emerging Media, Active International
Karim Kanji is the VP of Digital & Emerging Media for Active International. In this role, Karim leads the digital team and ensures they have the tools and knowledge to execute client media plans and strategy with high degree of confidence. He is also a member of the CMA’s AdTech Committee. Karim is also a local lead for the growth and implementation of Gen AI, aiming to leverage artificial intelligence and machine learning across various roles and functions at Active International. Karim is one of Toronto’s pioneers in podcasting. He started podcasting in 2010 and currently hosts the My First Joke and Welcome to the Music podcasts. Previously, he has also been a contributor for itbusiness.ca, as well as an instructor for the Social Media Marketing Certificate program at George Brown College in Toronto. You can find him late at night at various comedy open mics in Toronto. Before joining Active International, Karim managed the social media business for Nestle Canada and the development of content for Dell and GE Canada.
