The session focuses on key marketing and financial performance metrics that professionals must understand to make data-driven business decisions. It begins with an overview of the Profit and Loss (P&L) Statement, explaining critical terms like Revenue, Net Revenue, Cost of Goods Sold, Operating Expenses, and various forms of Profit such as Gross Margin, EBITDA, and Net Profit.
The session then explores Break-even Analysis, showing how many units must be sold to cover fixed marketing costs. It further introduces Payback Period and Net Present Value (NPV) as tools to evaluate marketing investments, highlighting how to assess the time and financial return of campaigns. Finally, it explains the difference between Markup (based on cost) and Margin (based on selling price), using pricing examples to reinforce how these concepts affect pricing strategies and profitability.
