B.C. Marketing Forum

The CMA B.C. Marketing Forum will support marketers who live and work in British Columbia by giving them a voice through the CMA and providing them with the ability to amplify local marketing best practices, programs and thought leadership.

Forum members will gather virtually on a bi-monthly basis to have discussions that are focused on topics specific to marketing in B.C. The purpose of the Forum is to unlock and understand the needs and differences of this community.

Mission: Learn, connect, network, share perspectives with other local thought leaders, and educate the wider marketing community about the region and how the rest of the country can learn from this dynamic marketplace.

Objectives:

  • Support and advocate for marketers in B.C. and provide a voice for them within the wider marketing profession.
  • Facilitate connection within the marketing community in Vancouver and the wider B.C. region.
  • Amplify and add momentum to the voice of marketers in B.C. and ensure they remain part of the Canadian conversation and are properly represented.
  • Diversify thought leadership content, and showcase national perspectives/a western Canadian lens to inform the community.
  • Showcase unique stories and lessons from this region in the context of global marketing.

Importance:

  • Members of this Forum can offer valuable input, education, learnings, perspectives and thought leadership to the community in order to:
  • Highlight the differences between marketing in B.C. vs. other Canadian provinces.
  • Tackle questions like: What is B.C.’s story? What makes B.C. unique? How does the audience/industry differ? How do you market to people in B.C.? What do other businesses need to know about regarding this region? Why does it make sense to approach marketing in a specific way in B.C./western Canada? What are retailers doing differently here to market to consumers?

Meeting cadence:
A 2-hour meeting will be held virtually once every two months at a set date and time, hosted by the CMA.
