Privacy and Data Committee
The CMA’s Privacy and Data Committee advises on the Association's policy positions and program activities in the critical areas of privacy, and data usage and protection. The Committee gathers for discussion and information exchange, and provides input and advice to assist the public policy and advocacy work of the Association in relation to the collection, use and disclosure of personal information for marketing purposes.
The Committee develops and supports research projects related to privacy and data protection, and proposes and contributes to a variety of materials and publications that inform and guide marketers about compliance and best practices. It collaborates with relevant government officials and regulatory bodies, such as the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, to provide feedback, exchange knowledge, and seek clarification on regulatory matters.
