Social Content and Commerce Committee


The Social Content and Commerce Committee serves as the authoritative voice for creator and influencer marketing excellence in Canada. As brands increasingly rely on creator content to drive purchase inspiration and navigate the evolving social commerce landscape, the Committee will:

  • Monitor and analyze major developments in the creator economy, social content and commerce platforms, and regulatory changes affecting influencer marketing in Canada, serving as a forum for discussion on emerging trends and challenges.
  • Develop industry standards and best practices for influencer partnerships, including measurement frameworks, contract guidelines, and performance optimization strategies that help members maximize ROI from creator collaborations.
  • Create practical resources, tools, and guides that help marketers optimize their existing influencer programs, including platform-specific strategies, creator vetting processes, and campaign performance improvement techniques.
  • Produce educational content such as best practice guides, training resources, case studies, and thought leadership pieces, and participate in CMA podcasts and webinars to enhance influencer marketing literacy across the industry;
  • Actively represent CMA's influencer marketing expertise at industry events, conferences, and regulatory consultations, positioning the association as Canada's leading voice on creator economy best practices;
  • Provide strategic guidance on CMA's positions regarding Canadian regulatory matters affecting influencer marketing, including Competition Act compliance, ASC advertising standards, and disclosure requirements; and
  • Participate as thought leaders in CMA events and member engagements, sharing expertise and insights that help marketers navigate the rapidly evolving creator landscape and capitalize on social commerce opportunities.
