The annual CMA Awards recognizes the top campaigns and marketers of the year from across the country. This year, we celebrate 55 years of excellence with a theme reflective of the journey through the pandemic: The Rise. We have re-emerged with a new sense of self, creativity, and discovery. Just as the majestic phoenix symbolizes rebirth, magic, and renewal, we’re bringing a new and fresh perspective to this iconic event.

2022 CMA Awards judge, Solange Bernard, Sr. Director/Head of Marketing Communications, Tim Hortons reflects on the upcoming awards:

“After 2 years of uncertainty and virtual awards shows, it will be so wonderful to be back together and in person as a marketing community to celebrate the best in Canadian marketing! 

Winning is important to all of us: a 2020 WARC study looked at 3,700+ campaigns over a nine-year period and found that awarded campaigns significantly outperformed non-awarded campaigns in terms of impact and effectiveness by more than 70%. It’s a proven fact that the 2022 Awards finalists have a significant impact on their performance and will be celebrated based on their creativity and innovation when the CMA hands out 150 awards to the top campaigns and marketers of the year.

As a member of the jury, I can confidently say this year’s campaigns were exceptional and it’s clear marketers and agencies have re-emerged with a new sense of self, creativity and discovery. The Gala is shaping up to be a grand experience with fabulous entertainment, interactive games with tons of prizes and a spectacular photo booth - and I understand there is even more to come! A sneak peek at the 2022 CMA Awards, presented by TD.

Cocktail hour begins at 5:30 where attendees will be able to play arcade games thanks to TD and win awesome prizes or snap a photo at our photobooth, brought to you by The Trade Desk (don’t forget to share with #CMAgala!)

The show will begin at 6:30, coinciding with dinner service, and will be hosted by our favourite master of ceremonies, Rick Campanelli!

Guests will be entertained through the evening with the smooth vocals of Témi, a Toronto-raised R&B artist, and stunned by world recorder-holder and fire performer, Brant Mathews, aka The Fire Guy
