Self-awareness is the foundation of emotional intelligence. A key part of self-awareness is recognizing your triggers: the situations, behaviours, or interactions that create strong emotional reactions. As leaders, understanding these triggers helps us respond intentionally rather than operating on autopilot or being driven by unconscious habits.

In this session, you will learn how to identify your personal triggers, understand the impact these triggers have on your behaviour and decision-making, and explore strategies to respond more effectively. You will also be introduced to mindfulness practices that can help increase self-awareness, stay present in challenging situations, and create space between a trigger and a reaction.

  • People leaders seeking to better manage their reactions in challenging situations
  • Emerging leaders looking to build strong self-awareness habits early in their leadership journey
  • Team members preparing for leadership roles and wanting to enhance interpersonal effectiveness
  • Individuals who want to better understand their emotional triggers and improve decision-making under pressure
  • Anyone interested in developing mindfulness practices to stay present, focused, and resilient
