Kudos to our Councils

Aug 09, 2021
It’s no fluke that my 70th weekly note to members returns to the topic of Councils. After all, these talented, diverse groups of thought leaders are the lifeblood of the CMA. From the front lines of Canadian marketing, they bring energy and insight to a number of our initiatives and create best-in-class thought leadership that keeps our community informed and engaged.

Council members show up (85% average attendance), they work hard (more than 40 content pieces last term), and they are led by exceptional Co-Chairs (rated 4.7 out of 5 by Council members in a recent survey).

They also gain value from sitting on Councils, with the vast majority indicating that the experience has met their goals of having discussions with other senior thought leaders, networking and contributing to the marketing community. I’ve had the opportunity to speak to almost all of them and have benefitted from each conversation. You can read some of their insights here.

We have a few slots available for the new term starting in September. Apply through your myCMA account under “Leadership” if you are interested in joining. You could also forward this note to a colleague that just sprung to your mind.

Community building is a core strategy of the CMA, whose purpose is to embolden Canadian marketers. Our Councils do both, and I can’t wait to see where they take us next term.

P.S. Please take a moment to participate in our Digital Pulse Survey. Insights from this survey will help inform marketing decisions and activities in the wake of profound changes resulting from the pandemic.
