Thank you for a record-setting week

May 26, 2025

Happy Wednesday,

Last week represented a wonderful and very rewarding milestone in my time leading the CMA. Thanks to great programming, compelling speakers, the tremendous turnout from our CMA community, terrific sponsors, and our talented CMA team, our second ever CMA Marketing Week was an outstanding success!

Over five days, 2,500 members and marketers joined us for the different events, professional development sessions, socials and thought leadership discussions we hosted. That's an impressive increase of 40% from last year.

The CMA is committed to futureproofing our profession and last week was an inspiring and fun way to deliver on this mandate. Throughout the week, our members benefited from free access to four CMA professional development opportunities, three thought leadership sessions, socials, and our signature CMAfutureproof event.

The energy and inspiration throughout the week were contagious. It was terrific to see so many of you enjoying the programming, engaging in great conversations and debates about the future of marketing, connecting with peers and meeting new colleagues.

A few highlights follow…

  • We kicked off CMA Marketing Week with two sold out events in the morning and a terrific Gen AI training session in the afternoon. Our Toronto event featured Neil Patel, a New York Times bestselling author and Founder of the Marketing School podcast. At our Vancouver event, we unveiled BC’s Most Loved Brands in partnership with Ipsos.
  • Our signature event CMAfutureproof event also sold out and featured keynotes from Dr. Jonah Berger, four time internationally bestselling author and expert on innovation; and Mark Schaan, Deputy Secretary to the Cabinet on Artificial Intelligence for the Government of Canada.
  • Our CMAinclusion event attracted hundreds of marketers from across Canada to hear about the future of inclusion in marketing, what marketers need to know about the new Canadian population and the importance of supporting Canadian businesses and brands.
  • To round out the week, we hosted three more CMA professional development sessions, two virtual thought leadership events and a CMA AIM social for up-and-coming marketers – which were all free for members.

The response from our members and the marketing community was amazing, with so many inspiring LinkedIn posts, email thank you’s and compliments shared in conversations.

Our small CMA team could only have accomplished a fraction of what we did without the support of the incredible sponsors, volunteers, presenters, CMA Board Directors and leaders who made CMA Marketing Week possible. So, a heartfelt thank you for your active involvement and support.

A very special thank you to my tireless CMA team who led the charge last week and kept a sense of humour and great attitude throughout. They have a lot to be proud of...and some sleep to catch up on.

We’re already planning for next year’s CMA Marketing Week, and excited to build on the strong momentum in 2026. We look forward to seeing you there.

Warmly, Alison
