The marketing profession funnel

Aug 23, 2021

I’ve always loved the funnel analogy. It works on so many levels.

Attracting high quality, keen, diverse individuals into the funnel for professional marketing is a win for all of us. It provides bright, creative young people with a clearer path to build their career and their networks. It strengthens the reputation and practice of marketing when young professionals get early exposure to professional standards and best practices.

And by supporting tomorrow’s marketers early in their careers, we ensure they will be part of the CMA for years to come, not only benefitting from ongoing professional development, regulatory guidance and leadership opportunities, but also by giving back, serving as thought leaders and mentors to subsequent generations.

CMA NXT – our community for students and young marketers to develop as professionals and business leaders with critical thinking skills – has just over 6,700 registered users. And that is just the start.

We need your help to identify a CMA NXT brand ambassador (volunteer role) for each community college and university campus across the country. Our brand ambassadors get a respected credential to include on their resumes and some great networking experiences. In return, we get some on-campus influencers. Activities include organizing events on campus, creating content, and working with marketing clubs and student organizations to promote the resources CMA NXT offers to help students along their professional marketing journey.

Are you connected to a post-secondary student? Send them this link.

You will hear more from me in the months ahead on CMA NXT, including a way for you to get involved.

Stay tuned for what’s NXT!
