This course provides marketers with an overview of the rules and regulations that impact marketing activities in Canada. Marketers need this information to safeguard the customer experience and maintain trust.
The course will help marketers collaborate with their legal teams to avoid costly errors that could threaten brand safety, delay marketing projects, and in some cases, result in penalties and fines from regulators.

Describe the laws and regulations that govern marketing activities in Canada.
Define the purpose and value of the CMA’s Codes for marketing self-regulation, including the Canadian Marketing Code of Ethics & Standards and the Code of Conduct for Professional Marketers (for Chartered Marketers).
Identify some of the common compliance risks and issues marketers face.
This course is open to learners who have completed the Summit course of the Chartered Marketer program, as a requirement before obtaining the CM designation. The course is open to all other learners as well.
Cancellation or transfer of registration must be received by e-mail to learning@thecma.ca no later than ten (10) business days prior to the date of the training to receive a full refund. No refunds will be given for cancellations made less than ten (10) business days prior to the training date. If you registered for a training but are unable to attend, substitutions* are welcome any time prior to the original registration training date at no extra cost.
*Substitutions refer to the transfer of a registration from one individual to a colleague
