Getting the most from your holiday season

With the holidays approaching, I’ve been reflecting on how the CMA’s purpose – to embolden marketers – and our three strategic pillars – could help you get the most out of the holiday season. 

Our first pillar is ‘standards’. Every holiday has expectations and best practices, like following an advent calendar, lighting the menorah from right to left, or toasting the new year at exactly midnight. We take comfort and joy from these traditions. As a result, there is a sense of familiarity, comfort and confidence.

Our second pillar is ‘influence’. Words and actions impact the world and people around us. Holidays are often a time of reflection and aspiration – whether that be for peace, hope, joy, rededication, or renewal. Living your purpose and imparting it to others can be rewarding and have impact.

Our third pillar is ‘community’. Our relationships make the holidays festive and moving. 2021 has been a challenging year for many. I hope those of you who have so much to be grateful for will join me in inviting someone who is lonely or struggling into your community to celebrate.
