The CMA announces Jonah Berger, new Vancouver event, and more, as part of CMA Marketing Week 2025
The week of in-person and virtual events will feature a keynote from bestselling author Jonah Berger, expert insights, networking and professional development.
TORONTO, March 20, 2025 – Today, the Canadian Marketing Association (CMA) announces its second national CMA Marketing Week, which will take place from May 5-9, 2025. This year’s agenda features a keynote by international bestselling author Jonah Berger, Wharton School marketing professor and world-renowned expert on change, influence and how products and ideas catch on. In addition, there will be perspectives from more than 35 industry thought leaders.
The week will include in-person events in Toronto and Vancouver, virtual programming and free learning and networking opportunities. Sessions will explore key industry challenges, evolving Canadian consumer trends and strategies marketers can use to drive business impact.

Whether it’s leveraging AI, navigating shifts in consumer behaviour or tackling EDI in marketing, CMA Marketing Week will deliver practical takeaways, deep insights and the connections needed to drive real business impact.”
Throughout the week, the CMA will be offering unique, future-focused programming to enable marketers to learn, network, influence and engage with industry professionals. The programs being offered include:
- Marketing Week Kick-off: Exclusively for the Brave presented by NP Digital and CMA Connect Live – Monday, May 5: Join the CMA’s president and CEO, Alison Simpson and co-founder of NP Digital, Neil Patel to discuss The Future of Branding at TIFF Lightbox.
- CMA Marketing Week Vancouver presented by Ipsos – Monday, May 5: Taking place at the Fairmont Waterfront in Vancouver, Ipsos and the CMA will announce the 2024 Most Loved Brands in B.C., featuring Kim Short, senior vice-president at Ipsos and Julie-Christine Marchand, vice-president at Ipsos.
- CMAinclusion – Tuesday, May 6: The CMA will host discussions on the ongoing importance of equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) in shaping the future of marketing in Canada, featuring Fenton Jagdeo Jr., advocate for radical curiosity.
- CMAfutureproof presented by Roku Canada – Wednesday, May 7: This in-person event at Daniels Spectrum will explore how marketers can futureproof their strategies using new technologies, data-driven insights and emerging trends. Jonah Berger, innovation and disruption expert, will be a featured keynote speaker. CMA members can access special early bird pricing of $25 until April 25.
- CMA Thought Leadership Panels: The Future for Brands – Thursday, May 8: The CMA will host virtual thought leadership discussion panels during the day, on topics including storytelling, brand and business, and maintaining customer facing systems. These panels will cover key industry challenges, emerging trends and ways marketers can position themselves for success in a rapidly evolving business environment.
Other programming
CMA Marketing Week will also feature a series of free professional development opportunities, designed to help marketers strengthen their skills and stay on top of the latest industry trends. On May 5 and 6, the CMA will host virtual micro-classes on generative AI, led by Karla Congson, CEO at agentiiv and Dave Burnett, CEO at AOK Marketing. These sessions are free for CMA members and will provide practical insights on how AI can enhance efficiency, creativity and decision-making in marketing.

A growing impact
The first CMA Marketing Week in 2024 attracted almost 2,000 registrants from across Canada, both in-person and virtually. With expanded programming and more opportunities for professional development, this year’s event is set to reach an even wider audience and provide deeper engagement opportunities for Canada’s marketing community.
